"average oitnb character has 3 boring storylines per season" actually just statistical error. average oitnb character has 0 boring storylines per season. Larry Georg, who lives outside of prison and has 10,000 boring storylines per episode, is an outlier adn should not have been counted

“A lot of the songs that sound like they’re about a girl, are about the band,” says Urie.

…according to Urie, the song that he most associates with Panic!’s shake-up — a mournful power-pop tune called “The Calendar” — even “started out as a different story.”

“When we started looking at the lyrics — and it wasn’t finished yet lyrically — we thought, ‘This kind of sounds like the split!’” he explains. “There’s a part in the chorus that says, ‘There’s nothing worse than knowing how it ends,’ and that really struck something in us.” That epiphany even gave Urie and Smith the drive to complete the song.

“There are a couple other lines here and there [on the record] that briefly mention the split, but just to touch on it. It was prevalent in the writing process, just because it was at the forefront of our minds, it had just happened, we wanted to talk about it,” he says.

People play in the sandbox they’ve been given. The narratives of Sherlock, Supernatural, Teen Wolf and even One Direction are all dominated by male/male relationships already, with female characters either in the minority or in the background. The fact that there are only three female/female pairings on this list may not just be a comment on fandom itself, so much as a sign of how rare it is to see a television show or movie that focuses heavily on an intense relationship between two women.

Just wanted to pullquote the most insightful part of that dailydot piece from earlier today.
